Buckwheat pillows are becoming all the rage and as they do, more and more companies are putting them out on the market. The decision is to go with one of the new kids on the block with an unproven label or to go with a company that has been around for a while and has been making buckwheat pillows for decades. Sometimes the smart move is to go with the old dog and this may just be one of those times.

For those that watch Wellness TV or some of the other natural healing shows, there is a pillow that is constantly being lauded as one of if not the best all-natural buckwheat pillows on the market. The Sobakawa Buckwheat Pillow constantly gets great reviews and those that have used them rarely go with a different pillow.

This pillow started to catch fire with the Yoga crowd years back and then as it became more popular, it leaked its way into the mainstream market. It is a good thing that it did because more and more people are getting a better nights rest because of it. This style of pillow has been used in the East for centuries, but for some reason the Western World has just never caught on. This is definitely a case of better late than never.

Sobakawa Buckwheat Pillows are all-natural and hypo-allergenic. They have the ability to support the head and neck unlike any other pillow. In addition to the support that is offered, the pillow never gets too warm and best of all, they never flatten out. They are lauded as not only one of the best buckwheat hull pillows on the market, but one of the best pillows period.

There comes a time when you have to step out and take a chance and getting a buckwheat pillow may just be one of those times. It is a very small investment in something that could lead to an overall happier and healthier lifestyle. It may seem a bit odd to place this much confidence in a pillow, but the pillow is the reason that many people toss and turn all night long and never seem to be rested.

A good night’s rest is one of the secrets to many people’s success and it just may be the only thing that is holding you back from reaching your potential. If a person starts their day behind the eight ball, it is very difficult to catch up. It would seem as though a buckwheat pillow will go a long way in getting people on the right side of that eight ball for once.

Pillows have been around for many centuries. The first known use of them was found in tombs that were located in the oldest parts of Egypt. In China, the first decorated pillows were made. They had some competition from the Persians and these highly creative pillows were much sought after and were even used for trade purposes. The buckwheat pillow found its start over two hundred years ago in the Orient before moving across Europe, into Canada and finally the United States.

Ancient Egyptians were the forerunners of many of the modern things we use every day. They were the first to recognize the need for more comfortable sleeping arrangements. This meant supporting the head and neck during times of slumber. This was so vital to these people that they would even put pillows under the head of the dead to make sure they were comfortable for the final slumber.

When other countries invaded Egypt, they took this concept with them. They began to feel the effects of having a pillow when sleeping. They slept deeper and better and woke up feeling more refreshed. The pillow then made its way to the Orient where it took another form entirely.

In China and Persia the pillows were not only used as a way to support the head, they were also used as a form of art. They were highly decorative and it could be said that the “throw pillow” originated here. These pillows become so sought after that there was a market for them. There were crafters whose only job was to decorate pillows. The more decorative, the more value they had in trade.

Around two hundred years ago, buckwheat hull pillows were commonly used in the Orient. The buckwheat hull is the part that is left over after the buckwheat has been milled. Once cleaned properly, the buckwheat provided a clean and supportive way to get a good night’s sleep.

As was typical of the time period, all good things that came out of the Orient made their way to Europe through trade. The same can be said about the buckwheat pillow. The first organic buckwheat pillows in Europe came from this area.

The pillows then made their way across the Atlantic and into Canada and finally the United States. Today, buckwheat pillows are becoming very popular. Many people understand the need to have a good night’s sleep. One way to achieve this is by using a buckwheat pillow. Some people say that it can take some getting used to at first. They also say that in the long run they are glad that they did take the time as they have never slept better in their lives.

While pillows have been around for close to a thousand years, the buckwheat pillow is a relatively new concept being only two hundred years old. They have finally made their way to the United States where they are gaining in popularity for their comfort and support.
